Rafael Hakobyan is a distinguished abstract artist from Vagharshapat, Armenia. His passion for painting emerged at a very young age, leading him to pursue formal training in the arts. He studied Fine Arts at the Panos Terlemezian Yerevan State College of Arts before shifting his focus to painting at the Yerevan Academy of Fine Arts. While his academic foundation provided him with classical techniques, it was his innate talent and visionary approach that drew him toward abstract art as his primary mode of expression. Although he specializes in abstraction, Rafael’s versatility extends across a variety of styles and subjects. His skill has been commissioned for numerous significant projects, including paintings for Armenian and Russian churches, where he blends traditional religious iconography with his distinct contemporary aesthetic.
